The thing about being in a band for the better part of a decade is that there are a ton of people to thank on the last release. If we forgot you we are truly grateful for your help and support, we're just jerks and forgot to say it. Anyway, Monument would like to thank: Tracy Kropp, Alvin Charity, Jesse Parker, Brooke Maggi, Andrew Nichols, Erin Fox, Joe Mitra, Andy Keller, Dan Abh at the Lab in Alexandria, Leor Galil, Andrew Clark, Keith Lanitan, Greg Horbal, Alex Wilhelm, Mike Bell, Evan Weiss, Melanie Losover and the CCAS, Matt Leech, Jimmy Rhodes, Doug Ticker, Matt Cohen, Caitlin Betchel, Danny Boyd, Evan Bernard, Tiny Engines, CYLS, Top Shelf Records, and all the fantastic people in The Fordists, Algernon Cadwallader, Annabel, Hop Along, The Ground Is Lava, Amanda X, Everyone Everywhere, Band Name, and Slingshot Dakota. WE'LL SEE YOU AT THE REUNION SHOW! Just kidding...(?)
Been following Somos for many years, feeling that they had an opus in them...well, here it is. Driving pop-punk sensibilities lend an upbeat tone in contrast to the grim lyrical proceedings, and they absolutely pull it off. Evocative music that's been on repeat for me all month long. RIP, Phil PaintedDogs
